English Premier League club, Chelsea, have announced that they’ve agreed on a transfer fee for Real Madrid striker, Alvaro Morata.

Through a statement on their website on Wednesday evening, Chelsea revealed that they and Real Madrid have “agreed terms,” and that Morata’s move to Stamford Bridge is now “subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.”

While Chelsea did not reveal the amount of the transfer fee, sources in the know said that Morata’s initial fee is around £58 million, with the possibility that the fee will rise to £70 million with add-ons..

Morata will arrive in London on Thursday afternoon for his medical, and, should he pass it, will immediately join the squad for pre-season training.

Morata told Spanish newspapers on Wednesday that he’s looking forward to moving to the English Premier League.

“I am very happy, God willing, tomorrow I will be at Chelsea, a club that has always wanted me…I’m not disappointed about anything, I’ve won four titles here [at Real Madrid], but now I only think of putting on the Chelsea shirt,” he said.

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, previously said that Morata was one of his top summer transfer targets, and that he believes Morata can help the Blues secure a second, consecutive Premier League win.
