Leroy Sane Urges David Alaba to Decline Transfer

July 24, 2020

Leroy Sane has implored his F.C. Bayern Munich teammate, David Alaba, to stay with the club, despite the latter’s contract expiring next year.

The 24-year-old winger recently expressed to a media outlet: “I really hope [Alaba] stays. I would like to play with him. He is a good guy, a great footballer, and we like each other privately.”

The 28-year-old Austrian – who only has 12 months left on his contract– has been linked to a transfer to Manchester City for the tidy sum of €49 million.

The Citizens have shown a keen interest in Alaba, although he has not shown any indication of giving the English club his signature.

Meanwhile, the Bavarians have enjoyed a glorious streak of being crowned consecutive Bundesliga Champions for eight seasons, and Sane is confident the team can continue adding trophies to their cabinet at Allianz Arena stadium in Munich, Bavaria.

Sane said: “I think a lot can be achieved. I definitely see a realistic chance of winning the Champions League with Bayern.”
