Real Madrid Confirms Player Exit

August 11, 2020

Real Madrid C.F. recently announced the exit of midfielder Takefusa Kubo from the team, just as the 2019/2020 season draws to a close.

The La Liga champions shared the news on Monday, 10 August, via an official statement on their website, stating that the 19-year-old Japanese player will be joining Villarreal C.F. as part of a season-long loan.

This loan is confirmed to last until 30 June 2021.

Kubo featured in 35 appearances for Los Blancos this past season, scoring four goals and assisting with five.

Club coach, Zinedine Zidane, is looking to prepare the next campaign, and is looking to recall winger, Martin Odegaard, to bolster the squad ahead of the 2020/21 season – however, Zidane is still looking to replace Kubo.

The 21-year-old Norwegian is currently on loan to Real Sociedad; while Real Madrid have communicated their intentions, they are patiently waiting for the UEFA Champions League to conclude before recalling him.
